Art in the city / Konstpåstan
“Art in the city” is an annual week-long art event held in the heart of Helsingborg, Sweden.
A large number of artists showcase their work in various shop windows throughout the city center, as well as in installations across squares and parks. The statue of Magnus Stenbock, located in the heart of Helsingborg, is one of the most iconic landmarks in the city. It depicts a man on horseback with a sword, commemorating the Swedish commander who won the final battle against Denmark.
My concept was to reimagine Magnus as an artist—replacing his sword with a large brush, and giving him a basket and a Salvador Dalí-style moustache. In this reimagined form, he became a symbol of creativity, transforming the city into a vibrant, colorful place.
